CM started as a print magazine in 2006 with the aim of revealing the vibrancy and diversity of Mallorcan arts and culture. The magazine has developed into an important source for collectors and lovers of art both in Mallorca and internationally.
Mallorca is well known as one of the most important centres for tourism in Europe. It is currently renovating this image by showing that its rich culture and entertainment goes well beyond the traditional sun and beach destination that is so well known. It is an exciting time of artistic and cultural renaissance being brought about by blending a long tradition in art with an infusion of the fresh perspective and imagination of a growing multicultural society.
As art and creativity knows no frontiers CM wishes to reflect developments in the local art scene, where Mallorcan artists have become established internationally, and discover and publicise interesting events in the international art world. As our archives show, CM now has a growing readership and list of contributors extending from New York to Hong Kong.
While continuing with the successful print magazine, the new web based version of CM will be even more open to new ideas, experiments and initiatives. Reporting in an objective and thorough way on museums and gallery exhibitions, visits to art-fairs, workshops and studios we introduce artists and their work whether it grows out of local, regional or international arts scenes.
We want to reach out and build bridges between those who create art and those who are interested in art.
